Your happiness in her
glows
and I feel the warm
taste in my mouth,
tart sweet,
the bitter of pith,
a hard shape of a seed
against my tongue.
I’m afraid of so much change.
This fruit
has opened so easily
and I know you cannot help
but reach for the sweetness.
My mouth is full
of emotion.
