"People are dancing/Still free she is" is such a beautiful image juxtaposed against the gold and blue. The last line punches the reader in the gut, reminding the reader of war's cruel, ongoing toll. A beautiful poem! Slava Ukraini, 💛 💙
I loved your poem and I wish the Ukrainian people well in their fight against the brutal Russian army and the Wagner group. Fuck Putin and his fellow sleazy oligarch scumbags in the FSB, GRU and his other torturers. I look forward to the day when a democratic Russia overthrows these looters of the Russian state and razes the ugly Lubyanka building to the ground along with its torture chambers.
