Click hereIt was only yesterday, yet two summers ago,
she walked out the door,
leaving us poor.
The door swung open as I heard her once more,
"I will be back soon," she always promised.
A beckoning day,it was,and the ocean waves hit the bay.
Her golden hair shined,
as she gleed with delight.
As she sped off into the light,
I was sure,
this time was not like the ones before.
I wept up a storm,
as I lamented on the ocean floor,
"She left us...
I must take her place
She left us...,"
Then, I slowly rose to meet my new fate.
Emotion washes over you as only sadness fills the void.
I am glad I saw the comments posted in Feedback to steer me to your poem.
Very touching disturbance of the mind
Thank you

I cannot imagine the grief.
I loved this poem.
A heartwrenching look into the reality
of what is, was ... could be.
Overlaying sadness here.
