Do the laundry, pay the bills
Feed the dog, bathe the kids
These are things from the life I live
Go to the grocery, sweep the floors
Tell the kids, "don't slam the doors"
Pick up toys, wipe a nose
Now it's time to fold the clothes
Get the kids off to bed
Look at the mail, I haven’t yet read
Tell the kids to go to sleep
Hush your mouths, don't make a peep
Now all is done, all is said
Time for me to go to bed
On my way I'll check the kids
These are things from the life I live
I feel I live on time I borrow
It got me through today
And hopefully tomorrow
With a new day it's the same old chores
Wash the dishes, cook the meals
Do the laundry, pay the bills

I'm not surprised this hasn't had much attention.
Non-erotic poetry is the least viewed of all Lit's categories and there is a lot of it on the site.
It works as a poem yet is depressing because it is so true for many people.
Perhaps if you gave it an unusual title it might attract more attention?
