Click hereDo desert sands recall the waves
from days they slept upon a shore
some ancient ocean's breakers swept?
Not just that broad-brushed sweep
of waves upon the beach, but more
that hidden ebb and flow of tides
that reach so deep they slip between
the sands time left behind,
their pull recalling other days,
long gone, to mind.
And in those memories
of lost days that came before
can they from time to time
still hear the ocean's roar?
Thank you for such a well written poem. Many times I've sat on the beach and wondered. You've touched my thoughts. Thanks
I've often looked at sand dunes and thought exactly this!
Nicely done - 5.
Graceful images, I fell in love with the first two lines...well done.

This is just lovely.
that hidden ebb and flow of tides
that reach so deep they slip between
the sands time left behind,
Your mind works in fascinating ways. Makes me wonder if Yosemite remembers the caress of glaciers.
