I grew up in California (5th generation). My father was a forester / geologist / fire ecologist. Mom was a house wife with a sports background - she taught us all the sports skills we learned early on.
During my life, I've always been active. I swam and played waterpolo in HS. I also wrestled a bit. I've played softball, volleyball, basketball, all with some degree of skill. In college I played badminton on the college team. Went on to play racquetball and now pickleball. I have also coached and refereed various sports - children, High School, adult.
I have a degree in history, with post-graduate work in anthropology (archeology).
I worked 35 years for the Bureau of Land Management and US Forest Service. I worked as a recreation management specialist; archeologist; and manager. Have extensive knowledge of land use planning; environmental analysis; public affairs (media). I have also supervised numerous employees in a variety of specialties.
