Click hereIn the darkness of the night
There sounds the cry of a child
Alone, frightened, in pain
Abandoned to the night
A child born but hours hence
In secret birthed, to coldness
No warm hand to hold him close
No breast upon which to feed
A child unwanted by the world
Into which he was born
Unloved by she who bore him
Or he from who's loin he sprung
A life wasted by the foolish
A gift sent from above, tossed away
No heed paid by cold lifeless hearts
No thought for the cruelty
Weep, ye souls of the light
Cry for the life destroyed
No chance to love, to grow
Denied the right to be
Pray, ye souls of the light
That this soul in pain be freed
Loosed from this world of fear
Returned to the light of life
And weep for the souls
Who'll never know
The joy they threw away
For they too are lost tonight
As darkness consumes them all.
