Click hereIn the woods is a deep dark cave
The place where no one goes
People pass with frightened glace
And they scurry quickly by
Sticks and stones thrown inside
From frightened children dared
Try to stir the beast within
The Monster of which they’re scared
In the woods is a deep dark cave
Outside she will not go
For stones are thrown
And names are called
All in hurtful tone
She tried to live amongst
The people who pass by
But there’s too much light and noise
So in her cave she stays
For at least she’s safer there
I love how your poem flips half through to the person in the cave POV , cleverly drawing us in and showing that fear and hate are the real monsters . Thank you another touching poem . Jc
