Click hereThey call me a monster, call me a demon.
The one who doesn’t fit in.
They threw stones and called me names,
Labelled me for my sin.
They call me evil, named me bad,
But I'm the one who stayed.
They said I’m a fool, said I’m sad,
But I'm the one who saved their souls.
Opened myself wide, let the hurt inside,
Just trying to be a saviour.
Broke down my walls, heedless of the falls,
Just wanting to be a friend.
I offered all, demanding none,
Just treated with respect.
Spent my time, composed my rhyme,
Just trying to be of use.
Now at last I see, how it’s meant to be.
In this place I don’t belong.
To the darkened cave, before my grave,
I take the words to my song.
For the final rift, my parting gift,
A thought if you may.
No more jokes, no laughing pokes,
Just who will you call when things go bad?
I can feel the emotion in your words . Vulnerability in opening up is scary , you write it very well . Perhaps my favourite of your poems, but it's hard to choose. Thank you for sharing. Jc
