The Thrill

Assumptions are nothing more than predictions yet to be
secured as true. It’s nothing new to
hope for the better, treat surprise as
familiar, and act as though
I didn’t care either way.

You know I’m all about that flow- going
slow with the motions. Decked
head to toe
in the mood of the moment.

Ignore the gnawed hangnails.

I bite off more than I can chew every time but no one seems to mind
when I talk with my mouth full.
All I want to know
is everything
everyone else knows
without throwing the thrill out the window.
