You and I

You and I,
sat down
in the quiet pastures,
upon the soft green,
gazed at the slow river
and its silent sparkling course,
we were almost touching.
And then the rains came,
creeping, but we stayed, clinging;
surprised and aching.
We stayed -
our hearts singing,
our heads buzzing
and suddenly our bodies,
magnetized, charged,
and we were kissing
in the hesitant rain.
We threw ourselves down
on the soaking ground
And writhed in the noisy wet.
We cried out in the storm
Offering a mutual prayer
unto the God of pleasure,
and groaned with a thunderous yearning
for the sacred treasure,
As we drowned out the tempest
when the treasure was found.
You and I,
are lying now in the sun,
in the verdant pastures,
in the soft green, dripping;
Bodies and hearts still touching.
