Click hereThey were leaning over the table, looking at the blueprints of the renovations they had planned over the last month. Tara wanted to add a bigger bathroom but Amber didn't want the extra expense of the plumber.
"I don't care... You have to tear out the walls of your room any way." Sherry huffed. You have to put some sound proofing in or the neighbors will think I'm killing you... remember the first time when Mr. Johnson came running over." She asked putting her hands on her spreading hips.
"But that's an extra three thousand dollars...." Amber complained.
"Three thousand now or ten thousand later when you finally figure out we're going to need another bathroom either on the main floor or up in the attic." Tara said pointing at the differences she wanted.
"I thought we were going to just add bedroom up there...!" Amber ground out, not wanting to pay the extra five hundred for another set of plans.
"I could always find another place to live." Sherry said wondering why she felt so irritable.
"No...!" Both women yelled.
"Fine, just make it so..." Sherry groused when she heard someone at the door. "I'll get it since I'm not paying for this. You two figure it out!" She stomped to the front door and yanked it open.
"We need the bathrooms... also the bigger water heater..." Tara's voice faded, as Sherry saw who stood there.
"What...?" She snarled at her ex.
"When you going to get this bee out your bonnet and come home. I ain't ever going to let this divorce thing go through." He asked spitting his chaw over the rail into Sherry's flowers. "You need to come home where you and my kids belong instead of stayin with these lezzy sluts...!"
Anger exploded in her mind as she tried to keep her stomach from spewing. "I'm not coming.... I am home... the divorce will be final before this baby is born if you like it or not. Please just leave me alone." She tried to be polite but she knew it came out in an angry growl.
"Damnit... I'm your lawful husband don't you sass me or I'll...!"
"What...? Hit me again...? We're done.... You know what; just go home and fuck your mother in the ass again...!" She slammed the door in his shocked face.
"Are you okay...?" Amber asked touching her arm softly.
Sherry took a deep breath. "Yeah...." there was another knock at the door. Sherry saw red again and spun. "I SAID GO FUCK...! Oh... sorry, hi Mary...." Sherry stepped back.
"Is Amber here...?" Mary was on the verge of tears, holding Louse in her arms. Sherry saw the rumbled clothes and the big sun glasses, that didn't quite hide the purpling from the bruise surrounding her left eye.
"What's wrong Mary...?" Amber asked concerned, as Sherry and Tara pulled back to give them some privacy.
"I've left Trace... he's not the... he hit me! Can I stay here...?" She clouded up more.
"Come on in... What happened?" Amber closed the door behind the crying woman.

Always loved this story.
Sad, funny yet well told. Every emotion goes through me when I read this.
Like most, I get angry at the spousal abuse, but there are amusing parts too. A great story, well told.
I'd say providing a half way house for abused women is a happy ending. Getting two young mothers away from abusive SOBs is a good thing. I don't mean them going thru that was happy, but them getting away, oh yeah!

a great story , a good ending , not a cliff hanger nor an everybodys all luved up ending , just right ....well done .
While I agree that every story doesn't need a happy ending ("A Match Made". "McKayla's Miracle", "Finally Meeting Morgan" some excellent examples), after all that these ladies have been through PLEASE give them at least a partial happy ending?
MyHandy, congrats on the power of this story. The brilliant, realistic ending makes this story like a river. Always flowing on across a slowly changing landscape.
I've been through similar familial disasters and at this endpoint of my life, I realize that there is no real ending to our personal stories. All that ends is our personal experience.
This was so enjoyable to read, and I love the plot! I knew the sex would be great once we actually got to it, and I found myself wondering which woman it would be with? I was surprised at who it was, but pleasantly! I see there's another part to this, and I hope I know where this is headed ... ~ L

Loved it, all 9 pages. Got quite involved with all of the characters and looking forward to the next chapter. No pressure but bring it on.

It definitely needs more smoothing out and a lot of details here and there to fill it in. It kept me going for 9 pages, so that's a great sign. I'm kind of a prick when it comes to reading these. I go more for plot and characters than I do for sex. Much more, in fact.
Great character development and I enjoyed the out of the blue element with Tara, but I'd have liked a little more chemistry between them initially. Also the villains (Allen and Trace) need to be fleshed out more. They strike me as the same person, although one talks a bit differently.
All in all, I'd say you could add 1000 or more words to really fluff this up into something polished and presentable.
Without going into a great amount of detail, I kinda muffed this one. Yes, there is supposed to be more to this story. I will post it as soon as I possibly can. Please remember these stories are my guilty pleasure. I write them to offset the angst of my other work. Without going into the whole word count, story lenght and formatting thing, I finished this part of the story and had to close it while I worked on something else. Unknowingly, I sent it to my editors and beavered on with my bad self. When I got it back, I checked the corrections and notes, made sure it was formatted correctly and posted it without doing a complete read through. Many apologies.

i really liked this and found my self quite involved with the characters in you story but i'm hoping there will be more to this.. its seems like a very untimely and abrupt ending here...
