I simply nodded in reply to him, moved the sheet of paper that rested on the table in front of me, and sat silently.

He continued, "Kim is so hoping you can post her bail. She says an almost nine-month pregnant mother does not belong in j---."

I interrupted him as I hissed, "Don't ever mention that bastard baby to me."

He stopped and looked very confused, "But – but I thought you were going to p---."

I cut him off again, "I said I wanted to discuss bail with her. Not you!"

"Oh, I see. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to cause you any undo stress. While we wait, I'll just read a brief I have to file later for another client." Then he quietly ruffled through papers in his briefcase.

The door opened and Kim was brought in by a matron. She was all stomach. Even in the orange prison jumpsuit, she was huge with the baby. She wasn't cuffed and looked somewhat better than the last time I'd seen her. Her eyes were clear and she appeared solidly in touch with reality. The dope had been cleansed from body and mind. She still seemed jumpy… like if she could get a fix, she would immediately choose to get high again.

I remained seated as she came in and moved toward her chair on the other side of the table. She tried to come around and give me a hug, but I stuck out my hand and said, "No. Not now. We've got a lot to talk about."

She seemed hurt that I wouldn't let her touch me, but she nodded and a slight grin crinkled the corners of her mouth. She sat and said, "Sam. My dearest husband! Please believe me, I did it all for you! I couldn't let Eddie kill you!"

I raised my hand again and she stopped talking. I started my speech that I had been rehearsing for several days. "Kim, do you see this sheet of paper in front of me. It's a list of the Pros and Cons of my loving wife."

She glanced down at the list and then back at me. "You wrote a list on me?" She asked.

I nodded and continued, "The list is very complete. It has information I got from the police, my own observations, our friend Mary, your girlfriend Trisha, and of course dear old Eddie."

She looked alarmed, "You talked to Eddie? What did he tell you? It's a lie, whatever he said."

I shook my head and ignored her outburst. "Kim, you're a liar. A pathetic drug addict liar. The story you told me that day you tried to come home was half truths and partial truths. At first I thought it was so confused with the true facts because you were so drugged out, but now I know you were intentionally trying to hide the truth from me."

She shook her head and opened her mouth to respond. She snapped her mouth shut when my hand slammed down on the table top.

"This is my meeting!" I said in a loud voice, "for now you just listen."

"You mixed the first several days and nights you were with that psycho asshole into one cock and bull story. You tried to make it sound like Eddie and his friends just happened to be at the night club when you women arrived for that girls' night out. And they drugged you and raped you and blackmailed you with pictures later."

Kim nodded her head and just said, "Yes, that's the way it happened."

"No, Kim that is the way you tried to convince me it happened. What really happened was you got curious about what a strange dick would feel like. Not just any strange dick, but a very aggressive biker's dick.

"You were made curious by his advances at the service station when he forcefully kissed you after helping your with your gas cap. Then again when he met you with Mary at the mall and damned near stroked your tonsils with his tongue.

"You accepted a date to have a drink with him and he gave you some of the date rape drug and had his way with you that afternoon. I know this part was true because the bartender at the bar where you met him at remembered you two together from your picture. Do you know why he remembered? He said it was because seeing such a nice looking obvious soccer mom type with a psycho biker type like Eddie could only mean one thing. That Eddie was scoring with you. He had seen it all before with other suburban wives and mothers and good old Eddie."

Kim lowered her head to avoid looking at me as I went on. "Eddie thought he was getting a deal and had no reason to lie to me about any of this. I know you met him every day after that because the bartender recalled you being there with Eddie.

"He threatened that he would have you service him and his friends unless you got some fresh meat for his buddies. You devised the scheme to include Mary and Trisha. You could have said no and walked away, but you wanted to keep fucking him, didn't you? So you betrayed your best friends and turned them into sluttish whore biker property.

"How do I know Eddie told the truth about that? I talked with the bartender at the night club. He had laughed as he told me about the three bikers at the bar boasting that one of their girlfriends was reeling in 2 new fresh pussies for them to try out that night.

Now how would Eddie have known you were going to be here unless it was pre-planned? How did they know that you were bringing two women with you that night? Eddie had to know already.

"The gangbangs and group orgies got kinkier as the days went on and you did anything and everything any of those guys told you to do. You and Mary did lesbian acts on each other to just excite those assholes.

"Eddie fell for you and wanted to take you with him. He threatened to kill me so you could be with him. He said that you had got very quiet and sat for a long time and then said if he didn't kill me that you would go with him. That he was much more man than I was. Did you say that?"

Kim nodded and started to speak. I cut her off again.

"Shut up. I talked with Mary and she told me what you had said to her at various times as the whole plot to pull her into the bikers' orgies was hatching. She told me that you had said that if you could be sure Angie would be alright, you might just throw me over for Eddie.

"Now all of the pieces made sense. You did get quiet when Eddie said he might have to kill me. That's because you were thinking and plotting. And you came up with a great plan. You would go with him. You'd whore yourself out just like Eddie demanded. You wanted to get a big taste of the wild life. You knew if I was alive, I would take care of Angie. So you could go play and never have to worry about her.

"So you agreed to go with him. Those humiliating things you said to him at the house the day he beat me up were true. You did think he was more man than I was. You did love his cock. Actually you didn't love his cock, you loved the way he treated you as sexual property.

"But you needed to cover your bases in case you ever needed to come back home. What better way than to make everyone think you did it to protect me? That one line you whispered to me as you left with him was your contingency plan. To make it sound like you did it for your love for me … that you would always be my wife and you would always adore me.

"What bullshit. You did it because you wanted more strange dick and lots of it. You wanted to explore being a bad girl. You wanted more than I could conceivably give you. You may have started out being drugged and raped, but you loved it!

I stood up and moved toward the door, "There will be no bail. You can rot in this stink hole for all I care. I've provided the DA with the evidence I've gathered. He plans to bring you up on a whole lot of new charges about what you did to Mary in a separate trial. You had best get yourself a good lawyer because Clarence here is far too busy to properly defend a liar, thief, cheater, and whore such as yourself."

I walked out of the room and never looked back.

Sure enough, the attempted murder charge was dismissed. Eddie got eighteen months minus time served for the aggravated assault. Kim got twelve months on the aggravated assault charge.

Then the DA went after her and Eddie with a vengeance for the blackmail and sex slavery of Mary. After reviewing my evidence, the police had opened a new investigation and found out that Kim and Eddie had run the same blackmail scheme on three other women in town. There were far too many counts to remember at this point, but suffice to say, they were found guilty of all of them and are now serving ten to twenty in our state's most hideous prison.

When the evidence broke, Carl found out abut Mary's activities. He sent her packing with little more than a toothbrush. Larry and Tiny were badly beaten by unknown persons in the rear of the very night club they had first drugged Mary. Soon thereafter they were also guests of the state at the same prison housing Kim and Eddie.

Angie is now a normal teenager with the normal problems of a high school girl. That's about all of the problems I have to handle these days. Or, I should say, we can handle. I met a very lovely little lady who is now my wife. She was one of my rehab nurses who helped me mend my broken body.

Life is good. Well better. Finally!

Oh, yes, I did hear that Kim had given birth to a baby boy in the prison hospital and that the state had placed the child in foster care until Kim gets out of prison.

I did receive a letter from Kim saying she was in therapy. Her shrink thinks she was suffering from severe hormone imbalances, and she had never been able to accept the death of her father. The hormone problem impacted her ability to make rational decisions. The shrink said that her failure to deal with her father's death left her with an emotional void that she attempted to fill with a meaningless sexual adventure. She had gone 'slightly nuts' back then.

I wrote her a note in reply that consisted of …but …two …words -- No shit.
