Here I am words in mind
Driving me to write at this time
It starts with just one little rhyme
And before long,
It sings to me like a song
One that must be told,
Put to paper before it goes old
Can’t lay here and let it sit,
For tomorrow the words may never fit
Up out of bed
To write out of my head
These thoughts, feelings and emotions—
That part of this, I sometimes dread
For without them I’d be warm and snug in bed
Instead here I stand
With pen and paper in hand
Wrestling with the words rolling in my head
Inspiration comes morning, noon and night
And when it comes it’s ready to fight
Fight to be heard, fight to be told
One more rhyme for myself and others to behold

Bedside table inspiration
Grabbing pen and paper and chucking sleep
Just to get the rhyme out.
