Scene In A Bar

Now, some among you will wonder no doubt,
What this little verse could be all about.
The story I'll tell will make it all clear.
You've nothing to do, but to lend me an ear.

We'll use as our hero some guy in a bar.
You know the type, you needn't look far.
He's dressed to the nines, the latest in style.
He's calm, unobtrusive. You can spot him a mile.

He watches the scene. He looks at the mix.
He spots competition. He studies his picks.
You women all know your being inspected,
But your interest in men, you keep undetected.

When asked why you're present, it's always the same,
"To dance, just to dance," is the reason you came.
You look toward our boy and your smile is his cue.
He's ready to dance and he's walking toward you.

His approach is a good one, you say that you're willing.
You're out on the floor and his arms you are filling.
He dances just right, not too close, not too tight,
And like him a lot, you think you just might.

The music has stopped, will he join you, you think.
You ask him to sit, and he buys you a drink.
This lad is a sharp one. He's good with a line.
Polite and respectful, he's no waste of time.

The band has returned, and they play a slow dance,
It's only now that you notice, the bulge in his pants.
You're hurt and disgusted, you're sad and you're mad.
This guy's not Prince Charming, he's simply a cad.

Now, relax for a moment, and don't take offense.
I must make a point, in our poor boy's defense.
It's not lack of romance or too much sex drive.
It's his hormones, my dear. They're going warp five.

So please understand him. Be kind and be gentle.
His problem seems physical, but really, it's mental.
Just take a step back, show your charm and your class.
It's a compliment, lass, that he's after your ass.
