Shades of Gray...

"Shades of Gray..."

There is a great
truth
in this
moment -
of introspection
and self-lack-of-deception.
I see it
all
as I lived it.
Moments tied with 'Forget-Me-Knots',
fears of so many things,
wishes that came within fingertips of being
an Everything - yet never was an
Anything afterall...
You know?

Life has it's 'shades-of-gray'
that I've lived within
and the COLORS
man, the colors - so close
and yet -
and yet...
the grays hold me,
and held me,
and know me,
and
are the only ME.

And you TRY - ya know?
and try and try and try
and reach
god damn but you REACH
and the gray closes in
tightens
thickens...
and yet you TASTE it
and it LINGERS - that taste
of color
that TASTE of a simple WISH
and all the gray fades to black
til the light brings back the gray
and the dreams
end
again
and the day begins
again.

So many cycles -
years of years -
days of nights
nights the only 'days'
dreams the only 'colors'
and tears -
well tears ARE living ya know -
a release so we CAN begin again
dream again
BE... again...
within our 'shades-of-gray'.
