MASKED MAYHEM
Afternoon Day 28
The steam from the hot bath rose around me as I scrolled through the Kitty Kat Ranch's social media feed on my phone. I found the post about the fundraiser for Hunie and clicked on it. They needed another forty-eight hundred to receive any of the money. I sighed. I clicked on the donate button and entered my bank card info. Who needed money anyway? Plus, Alejandro had more for me. If I survived tonight. I donated the remaining amount needed and hoped Hunie was resting in peace and her grandmother could eat for a good long while.
A text from Jonny came through but I scrubbed, washed and dried myself before looking at my phone. My pre-ritual bath wasn't necessary but it helped me focus and my Magic always went smoother when I was more focused.
His text read: We are all meeting for dinner in the banquet room. Your friend can help you get dressed.
Help me get dressed? I opened the door and Destiny was standing in my bedroom holding a dress box. I raised my eyebrows at her.
Her dress was stunning. A skin-tight leather that gathered at the hip, leaving one side baring her thigh and smooth long leg. The leather top was a tight corset and her boobs looked amazing.
"You're ready for the ritual." I told her.
She smiled and thrust the box at me. "The Zantana family has good taste."
"I was going to wear this vintage nightgow-" I held up the sparkly silver dress from the box and gasped. "It's so pretty." I walked into the closet and held the dress to my front in the mirror.
"It's fucking gorgeous. Wear the nightgown underneath. I think we're going to eat first."
"I'm supposed to eat in this?"
She laughed and moved away from the doorway. "Get dressed and I'll help you do your makeup. It'll be like old times at the ranch."
An hour, a blunt, a smoky closet and many giggles later, we had finished our makeup on the floor in front of the large mirror. Destiny helped me zip up the back of the dress. It was form-fitting but the stiffness of the fabric tucked everything in and smoothed my curves. My nightgown had fit perfectly underneath and I opted for black converse, in case I had to move quickly. The dress screamed at me to wear a heel but I just couldn't do it, knowing Jess would try to come find me tonight. I needed to be able to run.
Destiny understood and she too had chosen a well loved pair of combat boots instead of her fetish heels. She dug in her bag and fished out an intricate lace mask that covered most of the face. She handed it to me.
I grabbed it gingerly and gave her a questioning look.
"We'll all be wearing one. The Zantana brothers think it will help confuse Jess." She laughed. "But no one is going to miss that hair of yours." She held up her mask. A sleek leather one shaped into the face of a fox. "It'll be fun." She encouraged.
We both put on our masks and left the bedroom.
Ben sat on the couch and stood when we entered the room. His eyes didn't leave Destiny and I briefly wondered how he was supposed to keep an eye on me. Not that I was his problem.
We walked outside and more of Jonny's men escorted us into the Lodge. The sun was setting and I shivered from the chill. The grounds were covered with men and I wondered how Jess was going to find her way to me but we were mere mortals compared to her supernatural...ness.
We are led to a room I didn't know existed, at the far end of the Lodge. Men opened the doors and we entered. Jonny was sitting at the head of a long table, Diego at the other end. Couples sat around it with him. The decor and ambiance reminded me of a very elegant wedding reception. Jonny didn't tell me he was throwing a party.
The men at the table stood as we approached and Jonny held out the chair to his left for me to sit down.
Destiny sat next to me and Ben sat on the other side of her.
Jonny placed his hand on my thigh. "You look amazing." He said quietly as other people entered the room. A couple sat at our long table and others found their names on the little papers by the plates and chatted with their table companions. All of the women wore masks. Maybe it was for their anonymity sake too?
I smiled nervously.
Jonny pulled my chair closer to him and whispered in my ear, sending chills down my neck. "We thought a party would be a good distraction to keep Jess busy while you do the ritual." He glanced around the room and grinned at me.
I nodded nervously and grabbed a champagne flute as a server came by with a tray. I looked around the table at the chatting couples. "Where's Bishop?"
"He'll be here later. We have some club business to take care of first." Jonny replied as he texted on his phone.
I leaned over to Destiny and whispered, "There's a lot more people here than I thought there would be."
"It's a big occasion." She sipped her champagne.
Victor and Brooke came into the room and the men at the table stood. Another couple followed behind them. Everyone who knew each other shook hands and hugged before taking a seat.
Jonny introduced everyone as food was brought in on trays and set on the table.
Destiny looked at me and raised her eyebrows. "Lush." Destiny did love the finer things in life. Her clientele was typically men in very nice suits.
Diego's voice carried across the table. "I'd like to say a few things before we talk about the ritual." He stood, wearing a really nice suit.
The crowded room hushed and everyone took their seats and looked at Diego.
I grabbed two more glasses of champagne and handed one to Destiny while Diego spoke.
"It feels like yesterday we were just kids."
The men around the room nodded and made noises of agreement.
"When we started the club we had to put in the work."
All of the men nodded, a few more grunts.
Jonny stroked my thigh with his thumb.
We looked at each other and I smiled slightly, trying to play it cool in front of everyone.
"We've spent a lot of time in and out of jail."
Laughter filled the room.
"It was all worth it to get to this moment." Diego raised his glass and the men did the same. "Long live the King." He tilted his head to Jonny and downed his drink.
We all drank to Jonny. The King, apparently. Shuffling of chairs and clinking glasses filled the room as everyone sat down again. I raised my eyebrows at Destiny then looked over at Jonny.
Jonny responded, "We still have a war to win and battles to manage." He looked over to me and drank again.
A man named Mateo spoke, "We know you will do well. That is why we back you. It's time for a change." He gestured with two fingers to a man standing against the wall to come forward with an intricately designed gold case. Mateo stood and opened it, presenting it to Jonny. It was a beautiful custom-designed gold gun.
"We had this made for the new King. We pray it keeps you healthy." Mateo bowed slightly.
Jonny stood and gave Mateo and his wife, Maria a hug. Jonny took the gun from its case and checked to see if it was loaded. The chamber was empty. He loaded it, put the safety on and stuck it in the holder in the back of the waistband of his very nice suit.
I sighed. What had I gotten myself into? I nervously sipped at my champagne. It emptied quickly but Destiny had another two for us ready.
The man named Izan presented a gift to Diego. It was another custom designed gold gun. Diego did the same as Jonny and put his gun in the back waistband of his pants, hugging the couple before speaking. "Let's eat." He sat.
The table clattered with chatter and the sounds of utensils hitting plates and bowls. Laughter and friendly conversation filled the room.
Jonny's hand was on my thigh again. Food was added to my plate in small portions as the servers walked around the tables.
The atmosphere was light and the champagne made me warm and feeling sappy.
Victor sat to Jonny's right and they spoke in Spanish which kept Jonny's attention.
I nervously nibbled, not wanting food to sit in my stomach while I was performing the ritual and drank another champagne instead, my hands trembling as I brought the glass to my lips.
Destiny and Ben flirted with each other next to me.
I giggled and looked around the table. Twelve couples, plus the little group Crystal and Amethyst had gathered. They sat at a separate table and laughed with the handsome men around them.
Crystal noticed me staring and raised her glass in my direction.
I did the same and we both drank and smiled at each other. I hoped the energy we all raised would be enough to close the Portal. I also hoped no one got hurt. I sat back in my chair and sipped at my bubbles. I couldn't taste the champagne anymore.
"Glad you all could make it." Jonny said to the people around the table as plates were cleared and hot coffee poured into cups.
"Never pass up an orgy."
Everyone laughed.
"How's this going to go down?" The same man asked, looking directly at me.
"Uh...yeah...so tonight's ritual won't be easy," I said shyly.
"That's what she said." One of the male participants yelled out.
Laughter erupted and lightened my nervousness.
"The basic idea is to start having sex at nine. Try to be passionate but don't orgasm until midnight." I smiled, hopefully reassuringly, to the table.
"Three hours?" Victor asked.
I nodded. "It sounds like a long time but once we are in the ritual. Once I open the circle, time will seem different."
"Do we have to be having sex the entire time?" Mateo questioned.
"Not necessarily, like, inside each other." I blushed. "But being in the moment of passion and anticipation is what will raise the energy."
Everyone around the table nodded and I continued. I held up an organza bag from my wicker basket under the table and opened it pulling out the first item. "The Licorice Root pill will help keep Jess from Bespelling us." I swallowed it down with my champagne. "The tea will help keep the men-" I held up the linen tea sachet and blushed. "-hard for the three hours and it will help everyone to stay in the right state of mind."
Jonny smirked.
"Any other tips?" Brooke looked a bit nervous.
I pulled out the inscribed candle, its little holder and matches. "Light the candle, in a safe spot, exactly at nine and then start...having sex. Was everyone able to set up to their comfort level around Room 13?" I looked at Jonny for confirmation.
"You've all been assigned rooms but for safety reasons, you won't know until the last minute," Jonny said to everyone.
"Do we have to be in separate rooms? I thought this was an orgy?" Izan asked and looked at his wife with a wink.
Nervous laughter and giggles went around the table.
"Not really. Normally everyone would be in the same room, normally everyone would be fucking everyone." I laughed. "I just thought it would be harder to get people on board if we all had to-" I moved my hands together. "-be together." I blushed.
"Energy doesn't really care about walls. Or space. Or time."
Jonny smiled and there were nods from several people around the tables.
"So I guess I would just suggest we spend the rest of the time getting ready for the sexiest night you've ever had."
Everyone around the tables smiled. The couples got closer to each other. This would be a good group. "We should prepare the tea now." I looked at my phone. "It'll be ready to drink by then."
Everyone nodded and I felt like I was going to vomit.
Jonny motioned for a server to come forward with hot water and teacups. Everyone dipped their tea bags into the hot water and we let it steep.
I passed the organza bags around the table making sure each couple got a pouch. "You all might hear things, possibly even see things, during the ritual but staying in the moment of passion is the most important part." I felt the need to warn everyone. "This won't be easy and I don't really know what Jess has planned. I'm hoping to stop her, maybe close the Portal but we might just have to hold her off until after midnight, when her spell will no longer work."
"Everyone needs to stay away from Jess, if you see her do not engage. Do not look her in the eye." Jonny looked pointedly at the men participating in the orgy ritual. "Others are stationed all over this place, let one of them know and find somewhere safe to continue the ritual."
They nodded and stood. Some lingered near the table, some headed to the crowded dance floor.
Jonny knew how to throw a party.
Mateo and his wife walked up to me and Jonny. Jonny introduced us formally and I shook both of their hands.
Marta whispered to me, "Toys okay?"
"Electrical might get a little wonky, so maybe stick to things that don't have an electrical current but yeah, I don't see why not." I smiled and nodded to her.
One of the other women asked, "Is lube okay, three hours is a long time."
I blushed. "The tea will make sure you...don't have a need for it, but whatever makes you most comfortable."
Her partner nodded.
"Someone needs to guard the tea with their life." I half jokingly said to Jonny.
He whistled and four of the men in black jogged over. "Guard the tea cups with your life." He told them in Spanish.
The men stood on each side of the table.
I looked at Jonny, impressed.
"Is that what it takes?" He grinned.
I kissed him like I meant it. Like it would be our last time together. I was overwhelmed and wanted to run away and cry but Jonny's lips kept me rooted in place and I let the feelings go, gathering my strength with Jonny's kiss. The energy tingled in my body and I felt powerful. I can do this.
Jonny bit my bottom lip as he pulled back and took a deep breath. "Come dance with me. Bishop will be here soon." He pulled me to the dance floor. "I think you should open your connection with Keiran." We swayed to the slow music in the middle of the crowd.
I squinted at him. That was the last thing I expected Jonny to say.
"I have some men with him. They'll let me know if you're in any trouble."
I nodded. I wouldn't exactly be able to get to my phone if I were in trouble. I knew Jonny and his men would be watching on the security cameras around the Lodge but as far as I knew cameras weren't in the rooms.
"I've installed cameras in the rooms that only I have access to but..." he trailed off. "I want you to do everything you can to keep yourself safe." He made intense eye contact with me. "The Lodge doesn't matter."
"But the people inside it do."
His jaw tightened. "The people inside it are my responsibility, not yours."
I rolled my eyes and he kissed me roughly. "I love you, Jane." He whispered in my ear, "Behind the mirror in our closet is a safe room. Meet me there if...anything." His hands were warm on either side of my face and I wanted to sink into them. "Are you sure you don't want to run away with me? We can go anywhere."
I shook my head. "Diego's right. Demons are everywhere. They would just find me and I'm getting tired of running."
"That's my girl. We stay and fight for what's ours." He kissed me again and stepped back from me. "Bishops here now. You won't be able to see me but I'll be watching you. I'll see you after. No matter what." He said with such determination.
I nodded and tried to hold back the tears. I would make sure this wasn't the last time I saw him.
Bishop took over the dance for Jonny and I looked at his chest instead of watching Jonny leave. Bishop leaned down and whispered in my ear, "You look amazing."
I smiled up at him. "You look really nice yourself."
"Are you ready for this?" He asked.
I appreciate that!! Thank you for the lovely comment. I'm currently working on the second book and the drafts after this have come a long way. <3
It's been an interesting read I hope you continue it. Don't let the naysayers get you down, I've enjoyed it.
