Cindy's conversation with Mitch about her experiences with Ethan made me cry. You have perfectly described the betrayal you feel when your body doesn't respond to the way you think it should during sex, with no idea how to reconcile the desires that conflict with your beliefs, personal or otherwise. I don't miss being 19 and confused like Cindy, but you told her story beautifully and it hit home hard. I usually struggle to read first-person stories, but you have a way of making it sound very natural. Oh and I learned alot more about tennis! Well done 💜

...of The Tennis Star I told myself you were going to be a damned good writer and story-teller. I hate to brag, even to myself, but I was right. Seriously, JC, this looks like being another winner so keep up the good work. Mitch is quite a character and poor Cindy seems to be dreadfully repressed sexually by a sad case of small-town-itis. Both are so real. Here are five stars and I'm imagining more to encourage you.

Beautifully told beginning of a story that flows seamlessly with richly developed, real characters whose actions/engagement are so believable. The competitive collegiate setting perfect context to explore “finding oneself”. I, for one, am already immersed and wondering where and how you take us. Only thing predictable is you as an author — outstanding, so we know what we are getting.

God I love Mitch! From the minute you introduce her in the Tennis series I loved her. Her enthusiastic take on life, outgoing personality, and caring heart make her a wonderful character. While Cindy’s more down to earth, shyish and analytical. They are the perfect balance for each other. The reader can feel all due to your perfect story telling. I am so definitely looking forward to your next chapter.
Happy to see the early days of Mitch and Cindy with a side of Carrie. This is a really good start. I'm in love. Reading The Tennis Star so many times and seeing Mitch and Cindy again was the best ever, though my views on the couple has changed. Mitch we know she took food and sport seriously. Cindy I felt was a mother figure to Mitch.. except in the bedroom of course lol. This story has changed all that. They are equals in every way. It was also great to see Carrie again. Would've been nice to see her after The Tennis Star but I'm so not complaining. Can't wait to see the rest.
Just finished reading for the second time. This beginning is spellbinding. The snapshots of Mitch in The Tennis Player did not fairly portray who she really is. And Cindy's struggle captures my heart. Every one of your stories is magnificent. Thank you for sharing these uplifting stories with us. Seeing what a healthy relationship would be gives me some hope.

I want more, more, more of Mitch and Cindy. I want them to make love. Cindy is trying to force herself to be heterosexual, but she so isn't and she has not figured that out yet. You got to write more on these two.
I was very disappointed... that the chapter ended. It's one of those stories where it's not excessively surprising (there are some) but it so well written and the characters so believable that you are drawn in and cheering for them during matches and in their private lives. While I haven't read The Tennis Star I'm going to make some assumptions and see how they pan out.
You have written the next chapter, right? I don't think I can wait that long for the next installment.

I love this author's work and have read all her stories more times than I am willing to admit. I was really looking forward to this series because I loved the characters in The Tennis Star and was excited to learn the details of their story. I loved that you included little easter eggs for your faithful readers--like the origin of the "bet" on Carrie's sexuality. I am, of course, really excited to read the rest of this--and I'm really, really hoping that the story includes a coda that brings everyone's stories up to the present (say Carrie, Mitch, and Cindy sitting in the stands watching Iryna winning the US Open!). Emily Nagoski, in her book ‘Come as You Are’, describes in detail how some women can be very turned on mentally and emotionally but their bodies don’t respond in kind. I mention this only to caution all readers that just because a woman doesn’t lubricate doesn’t mean she’s not turned on.
In this story her so-called BF is a bit of a jerk and not lubricating with him makes sense but don’t always assume lack of moisture means lack of desire.

Even if I hadn't read your other stories I would know the reason why Mitch was seemingly so sad about Cindy saying that Mitch would find her "OTP" (bonus points if you get the reference) is that Mitch thinks that Cindy is that person.

I am a straight man. There are only 3 lesbian women I am personally aware of. I have felt in love with 2 of them in past. One revealed her status when I had made a move, the other was not aware of her preference at that time yet. I am still the very close friend of her and the third woman is her life partner.
Since then, I occasionally find good time reading good lesbian stories on Literotica, to perform empathy, getting in their shoes, feeling what their life troubles and joys may look like.
I have started with the The Tennis Star story I am going to reread later. I enjoy this Mitch girl story very much, greatly written.
I remember one great author posting several strong stories, linked by unique way. One was the usual way of sharing characters and intertwining stories, The unique way was sharing a lyric poem or a song, using different parts of it as a motto of the particular story. I have to find it again. 2 stories were about escaping the same English village with very extremely religious community, leading their protagonists to become partners in the "free country".

I really could NOT do the wait patiently for the next chapter 😭 thingy so I decided to wait and read all at times. Sorry 😐..... It's nice to see or read about young Mitch, Cindy and Carrie. Mitch though 😂, you've got to love her.
I so love this story! And at the same time, I'd like to grab Cindy by the hair and say that she shouldn't live a life meeting the expectations of others. I suppose it's difficult always having believed you're straight and then gradually even recognising the possibility that you're not. The suspense of Cindy making her own discovery is sublime.
Even though I think the outcome is a given, it's a very interesting road Cindy and Michelle are travelling.

This is a beautiful story of how true love is constructed. With all the beautiful sex that lesbians have I can't understand why would some of them breakup or cheat after making a commitment to each other. In a hetero relationship, I can understand that happening because the sex will be the center of the relationship if not for both at least one party and that would be devastating to the woman and she would have no clue why. All she needed either a full time relationship or maybe even part time one, nevertheless she would ultimately discover what she was missing out the ecstasy all her life by not having relationship with a woman.
Great story with nice add ons ....... Im not native english and she all those shorties are quite intense to get the meaning of an sentence sometimes ...... But all your knowledge about tennis or algebra or wlse pushes this perfectly to just only 5 stars

Completely solid storytelling from characters to backgrounding, subjects (algebra, tennis), pacing, and even that pesky 'unsexy sex'.
I'm hooked and am happy to watch this develop at the pace you are setting.
I love the slow build. Even though I'm not a tennis fan, you make it fascinating, and the strategy makes a perfect backdrop for the developing relationship.
