12/31/17 Update:

I'm alive! The good news is I've been writing this week, and I've got 15,000 words of rough draft. The bad news is that it's not Shadow Doctor or Kitsune; I've still got writer's block for those stories, and the current writing is a completely different story that I'm writing in the hopes that it will get me unstuck so that I can go back to finishing those stories for you. Hopefully this will be like when the Coen Brothers wrote Barton Fink when they were stuck working on Miller's Crossing (except, you know, they're geniuses and I'm me).

Anyway, I definitely am not going to subject you all to another unfinished story, so we'll wait and see if I finish this new thing before I talk about it or post it. If I do post it, trust me that it will be a complete work with a beginning and end and once it's out you won't have to wait around. ;) It feels like it will probably be around 60,000 if it finishes the way I think it will, so that means I'm 1/4 done with the rough draft.

In other news, I shut down my Patreon since it didn't seem like the right fit anymore. We're back on a strict hobby basis for the writing for now. We'll see how that goes.

I couldn't come up with an ending to this story that didn't betray the character concepts in my head, so this one will probably stay unfinished forever. Sorry!
