So long ago
I heard my little girl
Sobbing alone in her room
But when I ask her what was wrong
She would tell me nothing was wrong
Now 20 years later
I wish
Dear God help me
I wish I had probed deeper
Paid more attention
Stopped what was happening
If only I had known
She might still be alive today
But I never knew
She never had the courage to tell me
Mama he's a dirty old man
Mama he does things to me
Bad things

I trusted him
So many times I trusted him
Leaving the 2 of them alone
I never knew
The horrors he committed on her innocent heart
In that backroom
Dark and deadly
How could a mother have been so blind?
How could I have not seen?
Sensed?
That deep inside her pure young soul
He was destorying all that was good and childlike
Killing my daughter
Slowly
Bit by bit
Until she had no sanity or will to live left
In her final goodby note
She finally told me her awful secret
Mama forgive me please
I was touched by The Toymaker

How lost she must have been
How afraid
Without a mother's unwaving love to hold and comfort her
What must that monster have done?
How must he have taken advantage
Used a child
My child
To fulfill his sickest desires
My baby
My God not my baby
Please I beg of you lord above
Let this horror be all just a bad dream
Please somebody wake me from this neverending nightmare I'm living and tell me that she my little one was't.....

Suffering
Everyday
The guilt eats away at me
I know in my heart
Her pain was all my fault
And for that I can never forgive myself
All I can do now is pray
Pray and try to make right all the many wrongs I let happen in her past
He's still alive
Out there somewhere
Still playing his sick twisted games
Stealing away every last bit of childhood joy that he can
Tonight that ends
Tonight The Toymaker learns his final life lesson
