All that build-up, and then, "Pffft!"
As far as the basic premise, I certainly claim no expertise, but it's been a couple of decades since her accident, surely there have been advances in surgical techniques that can help with her problem?
I will give you kudos for an off beat story line, but I think a bit of surgery could fix the problem quite nicely and a doctor should know that or certainly can find out. This story doesn't indicate there are more chapters to follow, but it cries out for another chapter, or a sequel. Two people who are so attracted to each other would be simply insane to let it die and I can't imagine him standing for that happening.
But unsatisfyingly incomplete. I hope there is another chapter to follow?
In answer to several of the comments: for this particular problem (and yes, I have reason to know), surgery isn't actually helpful. The problem she has is scar tissue - and the more surgery, the more scar tissue can form. There is possible treatment...as you will find out in a later chapter, but it's something few doctors are trained to manage.
And yes, there are more chapters. I'm just having to re-edit some of them for Literotica's posting rules. If you'd like to read the original, check it out on storiesonline under the pseudonym Aquea.
A great start to what promises to be a well thought out and written story. I look forward to reading the next chapter. As this is my first foray into your writing and the first story you posted here I have added you to my favorites list. I appreciate your and your Muse's imagination (memories) and abilities to bring it to your story. Thank you for sharing your vision and talents.
