Oh yes! this is the real thing, a moment by moment description of the agony of being sold. I saw every move in my mind's eye! Arousing!
I like this. It sets up how a slave is raised and trained, and it shows the first flashes of Sara's intelligence. She recognizes for the first time that she has control of a situation, and is thinking ahead to her future - advanced concepts for people in bad situations.
I liked how you described Sara's point of view. At no point does she consider rebellion, attempt to run away, even think about reacting negatively to what she's given. From birth she's been raised into a position of basic slavery and it's never occurred to her to try to leave. It's different from other slavery stories where it's breaking someone in through sexual domination; although it's based on sexual slavery, actual sex isn't shown and the story spends more time focusing on setting up the premise and Sara's background.
If you cut a guy's dick off, "castration" is the nearest word so use that for girls too. Circumcision for a woman would just be to cut the hood of her clitoris.
With Sara's superiority, why isn't there a quest for freedom? I think this should be explained.
Price was way too low. Even in the 1820's male field workers sold for $12,000 around $130,000. A literate well spoken babe like Sara would be easily over $250,000.
