Superb superb writing. You are meant for much bigger accolades and literary milestones
What a wonderful ending to a magnificent tale, you wove it all so cleverly. I think my favourite on this site ever. Thank you so much for sharing it with us all and I do hope you have another up your sleeve :)
Superb! Thank you for all the work you put in for this story. Incredible. You did your research.
Really enjoyed reading this well written and researched story. Characters and storyline clearly developed and plausible. Accurate historical references to a tragic period of the brutal occupation of Ireland interwoven with the overlapping fates of individuals and families on both sides all in the context of a beautiful and sensual love story. I am reminded of Yeats’ “A terrible beauty is born”.
Absolutely one of the Best works on Literotica. Five Stars just isn't enough. My Irish parts never knew of the 1798 rebellion until this story. Shame on the English, and shame on me. Thank you for this. Semper Fidelis, and Sic semper tyrannis.
Thank you astushkin for such a well written story. Everybody's comments were perfect and I'm sure I won't be the last to remark on how impressed I am. The amount of research, effort, and attention to detail that went into this is truly awesome. The poetry, music, and language that you wove into this transported me into the world of 1798 Ireland. I feel like I have to visit Enniscorthy now (if we're ever able to travel again). Your title and subtitle were spot-on, for there was great passion and glorious vengeance. Unlike most of Ireland's history where there's a dearth of "happy endings" I was moved and a little choked up at the beauty of your epilogue. I'm glad to know that our protagonists and their progeny survived this brutal time. Fuck the crown.
Great story and we'll told! Thank you for a wonderful jaunt into the past!
Simply incredible!
Your attention to detail and thorough research are evident throughout the story.
You've managed to evoke almost evey know emotion from me, so truly, thank you.
You should be justly proud of what you've achieved. You've penned a masterpiece, well done!
What a fantastic story! I simply loved it! I hope to read more tales like this from you. What a gift you have of putting the contemporary Irish dialect into your story! It flowed so well!!
What an eye opening story, I Google'd certain places and practices in almost every chapter. When I read about 'pitch-capping' I felt such disgust and shame that those evil Crown forces called themselves English. I am a proud Englishman but this barbarous behaviour then, and since, was Never in my name. Tony
Grateful that atleast declans prediction of him and aoifa being together came to pass. Which meant they survived the events of 1798 and had a family together. Tough the emerald isle had another century to go before it gained its independence
Astushkin, the pace killed me - and I like novel length stories. 'Just too many side trips/scenes that didn't move the story/characters/context. 'Bailed out at about 25% completion.

One of the most truly absorbing historical stories to have read in a very long while. Exceptionally well written, and with a depth of character development that brings them alive to the reader. Many thanks to the author for the enjoyment his work has given.
Rousing tale and what a passionate pairing these two made; I loved reading about Aoife and Declan. 5
Absolutely fantastic. This transported me to the period set in the story. I still can’t understand why the English still want the fucking monarchy and titles. Shame on them!
Good to get some insight into my Irish heritage.
But being an Aussie I have Scottish and English heritage as well.
So who do I take pride in?
I must say the glaring faults in the alleged religion of the 1st Roman emporer to to convert to Christianity.
Prior to him a Christian was most often laying their life on the line.
When it became the official religion it had no meaning.
The church of England was a poor copy.
Christ no longer the center of their being.
Hence no justice, love or caring for the fellow human.
Today it is the same.
God save us all.
Absolutely fabulous, well written, a very accurate & believable story, I truly would have loved to read a few more chapters of Aoife & Declan's following life ?
Absolutely beautiful story. So well written! I couldn’t stop reading it. Thank you.
