Click hereThe humor disappeared from her expression as Faith worked through something in her head before sharing it with me. "It was finally accepting what my father spent my whole life trying to make me understand. That God had a plan for me if I was patient and wise enough to let it come to pass. It was knowing life could still be good despite dad being gone. It was accepting that I could be joyful again. Can you understand what that meant to me?"
"Yes," I smiled. "More than you realize."
"That's why I got the tattoo," she continued. "Or at least that's what I thought at the time. I told myself that even if you and I never got back together that night would still be special to me, and I guess it would have, but I think I was missing the whole point."
"And what was that?" I asked, honestly curious. I was pretty sure I knew the answer, but I wanted her to say it.
"That you were what made that moment special." She leaned in and kissed me once more, this one with far more passion, though it didn't last long. "You coming into my life made everything right. Can you understand what that means to me? What you mean to me?"
I knew exactly what she was trying to say. It was the same thing I'd been trying to explain to her ever since we met. It was the mantra I used to get passed the times when I was afraid I'd lose her. I'd just used different words.
"Are you asking me if I can understand how much you coming into my life helped me renew my faith in God? How it helps me understand that all my hopes are actually possible? That I could truly love someone more than myself?"
I leaned toward her and kissed her briefly before she could answer, cupping her cheeks once more with my hands and then turning her head so I could kiss the tattoo behind her right ear and then the one behind her left. "Faith, hope and love. Get it now?" Faith looked at me momentarily startled, but then smiled in understanding.
"I got it this time."
"It's about time!" I teased melodramatically. She arched an eyebrow and suddenly we were both laughing. I pulled Faith to me and we kissed again. This time we didn't rush it.
"Come on you two! It's time to eat!" I groaned as I heard Eli from the other side of the bedroom door. I didn't want to lose the moment, but Eli being Eli, he followed up his cry by banging on the door loudly three times. "If you're not out in two minutes I'm coming in after you!" I knew he was serious.
"You do and Colin will have to find a new best friend!" I was a little taken aback by Faith's reply. She wasn't quite as loud as Eli, but it was a lot closer than I would have expected. "I'm not done with him yet this morning!" There was silence from the other side of the door for a second before Eli burst out laughing.
"Yep, I'm definitely going to like you!" he called in a more normal voice as I heard his footsteps move down the hall. "Just remember, he needs to eat to keep his energy up." Faith didn't look remotely embarrassed. I on the other hand turned a bit red and laughed, not that I minded.
"Now, where were we?" Faith asked, turning back to me. The desire in her expression made it obvious that breakfast would have to wait.
I stopped laughing and rolled on top of Faith. She looked up at me with a sexy and content smile. Her soulful eyes were telling me exactly what I wanted to hear. Having Faith in my arms was an incredible feeling that I was certain I'd never get over. Having her in my life even more so.
Second or third time I've read it and it's really well written, despite some typos and a missing word or two, Faith/CC/Carrie is a fascinating, complex and well-drawn character. A follow-up would be really interesting.
This is the fifth time I'm reading this and it still brings tears to my eyes, 5 stars
This is one of my favorite of many hundred romance stories I've read on this site. I would have also enjoyed a chapter where they all meet grandma and their parents etc. VERY WELL DONE! Wish I could rate it higher than a 5.
Fantastic story. Even if there was dust in the air. It was a slow burn, but I wouldn’t want it any other way. I so much like Faith’s attitude. And if you didn’t it was up your nose with a rubber hose. In other words it was refreshing. The story ended as it should with everybody looking forward to life together. Except Ryan and he was a special case. lol
5 Stars for a thorough beautiful love love story.
A-1 story. So loving and heartwarming. Though the ending was a little abrupt. There was the meeting with the parents and grandmother. You could have gone on till they got married.
I gave this story 5 stars of course. And though I have read it many times I always get the feeling this story is not yet finished.
I loved this so much. It's so beautiful and heartwarming. Thank you for writing it.
I think I’ve read this story about 20 times - its in my favorites list - and each time it totally warms my heart. Thanks for this amazing tale.
The story was perfect. I tend to Agee with sordid. The part of the story is Eli egging on the Mac to take that away would be takeing part of the story away.
anon below who seems to hate relationships. You're an idiot. Eli or someone like him is part of every friend group. He may be an ass but he isn't hateful or even mean. You're just a weak, childish idiot.
And complaining about Jean? The additional relationships make the story richer dude. Peoples lives are better when they have more people involved in them.
Excellent. Wonderful story. Please do a follow up on Faith’s meeting the Grandmother.
Couldn't stand Eli a person would be better off finding a new best friend. Nobody has to put up with a guy who is always an ass. Frankly I would have put a fist through his rude mouth but some people seem to need a assclown for a best friend. Later on he is the one screwing your wife behind your back. This story was good in parts the romance was interesting. The relationship with Eli and the cousin was non essential as with other parts of the story. It should not have been so many pages if you take out all the garbage side stuff.
Yes, thoroughly enjoyed it as well. A wonderful story, similar to my own. I've read this story four times and it always gives me glow in my heart.
I know many people like them, but personally tattoos and piercings turn me off. I like the warm living clit or nipple when I tongue it and no metal, and pure natural skin, the way God created it. Personal preference. But the inner person is much more important than the outer.
This was heading to a 5⭐️ story,,, but it just stopped ,,,4⭐️ because it needed a visit with grandma because of her hot chocolate and then an epilogue to tie it all together for the ending with them for life
Amazing story well written
Great story, tbh there’s almost nothing I would change, except by including the first meeting with Grandma, she looms large throughout the story as a figure the family respects and loves, her influence is tangible on the pages, so please forgive me if I feels a teensy bit short changed by not meeting her myself (albeit through the words of the story). Nevertheless, an easy 5⭐️, many thanks for writing and posting here on Lit, cheers Ppfzz.
Thank u JoeDreamer Excellent story one of my top 5. Always a great read wish there was more but will take as is.
Excellent story! One if my favorites. Another chapter or two where she meets Grandma would be wonderful.
Thank you!
The story is top 60 on Romance Hall of Fame for a reason. Don't miss this one. I agree a sequel would be nice, but remember some facts. Joe Dream starting writing in 2005 and in 2021 he had only one story, with none since. This story was written for Christmas 2016.
I notice a negative comment. The person said there was an action that upset them so they stopped. I would suggest not reading if you want every word and action of the characters to be perfect according to your own thinking. But t hen it would perhaps be boring for others and I suspect not so true to life.
The Hoary Cleric
I agree with the thought of more chapters... meeting Grandma, getting married, the kids, etc.
Feels that there's something missing since the family meeting for the 3 cousins should've been great I think 🤔
I couldn't make it through the whole story. Thought it might be a nice love at first sight story until he grabbed girl by arm and tried to not let her leave to see her friends? He became creepy to me at that point. Know it's just fantasy but any time a man tries to keep a girl from seeing her friends she should run from him!
I love u so much after one night i can't let u go ... is just too weird. Surprised it had such a high rating!
First time I've read this story. And I'm a little disappointed because we didn't get to see her meet the grandmother!
5*

I love this story. It is one I read every Christmas now. It touched me both emotionally and spiritually. Thank you!
I was taken in by this story .... and now I only have 3 hours of sleep left before work, but this story was soooo woth it. 5* , a no-brainer.
My favorite story on here. I come back every year to read it. You have no idea how much this story hits me... I don't have tattoos because I don't want to look like a used up backup bitch but everything else about Faith? There is a lot of me here.
I love you Tommy.
To the homophobic commentators:
I am not surprised that some were annoyed with the religion. Not every story is for ever person. I am a Christian, but I love reading erotica, as it provides a non-visual outlet for the sexual thoughts that most humans have, and are completely natural. The faith bits, were for me, well done. I understand religion has a long record of great abuses, greed and wars, which continues today. I don't have a problem with someone getting upset it is in a story, though they could just skip the story (or have read the damned title).
I DO have a big problem with the homophobia. You don't have to like LGBTQ content. If it pops up unexpectedly you can stop reading. I really don't like non-consentual content, and if it pops up I stop reading. I don't attack the author! Not every story is for me.
LGBTQ content is all around you in the real world. Two of my three adult kids are LGBTQ. I have gay, lesbian and trans cousins. A lesbian minister preached from the pulpit at my church the Sunday before last. We have been to her and her wife's house for dinner more than a few times. The organist at the church we attended before this one was openly gay and had a great boyfriend. A kid my was a youth leader for, and is now grown, and still very close to us, is in in a LGBTQ relationship. They are all around you. They live next to you. They are in your family. They are your co-workers. Some are in long term relationships (like many straights) and some like to sleep with multiple partners (also like many straights). They don't spend 8 hours a day having gay sex. They are not trying to seduce you, because why would they want you? Have you seen the way you treat others?
What do gay people do most of the time? They walk in the park, rock their babies to sleep, make love to their partners, go to concerts, go to work, worry about their finances, get in stupid fights with their siblings, volunteer in soup kitchens, go gambling at casinos, get drunk on Saint Patricks Day, have a favorite celebrity crush, mow the lawn, go to bars, root for their cities sports teams, go fishing, smoke a joint and visit their families at Christmas (depending on circumstances). They are just people like you. If you hug them they provide warmth. If you cut them they bleed. If you support them they will support you. If you love them they will love you, because love can exist apart from sexual desire. Not everything that is LGBTQ is sexual. Also, share passion between concenting adults, is not disgusting, but your attitude toward gay sex is.
Grow up.
Interesting though maybe a bit predictable too early. The three different relationships all blossoming at once seems odd. Yes Wli has crushed on Jean for years. But shw rebounds and is hard core lovestruck with him? Sophie and Rose are 100% serious with far less time spent together than Colin and Faith? Maybe one love at first sight romance is enough for one story at one time lol. Anyways was fun.
I don’t know why, but for some reason I love how all 3 relationships go against the grain of what their families would want; Eli being Jewish, Sophie and rose being lesbian, and faith having piercings and tattoos and purple hair. I had to come to grips recently with the fact that the girl I’m in love with goes so extremely against the grain of the person my grandparents would want me to be with. I don’t know why, but reading all of this in the story helped put my mind at ease, even if it’s all fiction.
Odd! I have a Dragon tattoo on my forearm and the words Sometimes the Dragon wins.
I got it when I was diagnosed with PTSD. My Dragon that I fight with daily.
Great story
Thank you
Joe keep writing. Great Romance!
As to your skill: You need an editor, too many confusing gaffes.
Best skill: Creating characters that people invest in and want to hear more about. Even grandma!
Regarding Strixaluco's comment. This is a story and not real life. There are many things existing in reality that are not covered by this story. So for a reader to wish it would even cover some less events that might or might not tale place in that small part of reality reflected by a single persons conscious is not irrational. Also it is a fact of life that the story was ruined for the Anonymus you are referring to. This fact is not nullified by the fact that the story wasn't ruined for you.
I didn't care one bit for the Eli character, and the fact that similar people do exist does not mean I have to like them...
great story but you ended it way to soon unless you can get a part 2 going ? five star
A nice light Christmas story that should make everyone smile. I really enjoyed it and it had a great ending. Would have liked for you to end it with meeting the family. You have a lot of grammatical errors. Correcting the spelling, putting in adverbs and prepositions would make it an easier read. I’m in the list of Literotica editors if you want to contact me for help.
I loved this one. I could have wished for more but the happy end was really nice.
Sweet, tender story of two people who really connected. Well written, multidimensional characters with believable inner monologues.
Please write another chapter, their story is far from finished. He's already, unofficially her husband, so she needs GOD to give them I baby to nurse those barbell-pierced breasts. WONDERFUL STORY!
Nope, religion and lesbians definitely did NOT ruin this story. (Even for me though I am atheist and often pretty pissed about religion being taken for granted.)
Anybody being disgusted with LBTG should remember that most people have more relatives or acquaintances in that group than they know. It is just a fact of life, and this story didn't even have lesbian sex. They have their romances just as well as we heterosexuals.
Beautiful story, each one of the couples was believable and lovable. I would read a follow up in a second, but it is perfect as is.
Great story. Just found Sophie too interfering when they were discussing their family!!
mostly excellent. would like to see Grandma interact with these 6 and give her blessing to them in front of the extended family and take no back talk about their choices. Yes, as someone else said, is there a sexual back story to Rose and Faith? Or just 2 souls meeting and accepting?
Magic is in the Air and in the writing of this story. Well done.
Sexy, but not overdone, and romance abounds.
I loved the story and I agree with the general sentiment: I'd love to see all of them going to tell Grandma about the new holiday magic in their lives.
Maybe a new story told from Rose / Sophie POV about how they've met and how they came out to their families? Extra points if Grandma's only surprise is that Sophie and not Faith is Rose's girlfriend...
My second time with this one, Joe! Just as wonderful as the first time! Beautiful story!
5 stars. Well done.
This is a great well written story that moves along at a good pace. I love the time you spent on developing the characters so that they can be seen as real multi dimensional people.
It is also good to read a story on this site that is not just a repetitive monologue of unbelievable sex acts that quickly becomes a boring read.
I LOVED this story!! It was perfect as is. The connection between was palpable.
It’s good. Would have liked to seen some the middle yak cut out for more ending. Maybe a meeting with grandma. I don’t know. Could been same length story but just little more detailed ending.
FROM THE BEGINNING TO FINDING OUT WHO CC IS, COLIN SEEMS LIKE SUCH A LOSER CHARACTER!!
TOO MANY PAGES FILLED WITH BANAL DRIVEL THAT CAN BE SKIPPED THROUGH
If not THE BEST, this is one of the BEST stories I have ever read. Beyond Amazing.
I love your writing. This is the 3rd story of yours, that I have read (1. Two Years Later & 2. A Lifetime of Valentines). And I can tell you I am hooked to your stories now.
I loved the funny banter between friends & cousins and those cheesy jokes & pick-up lines.
Thank you very much for writing this wonderful story. I will definitely read it again in the future :)
I really enjoyed this story. One of the best I've read so far in the Romance category. The first part of the story really drew me in. That's what sets it apart, and hence 5 stars.
I agree with Ambivalence... it would have been a nice finish for Grandma to accept Faith, but I still loved the story (my 2nd or 3rd time through it).
While not necessary to the story, I'd have liked to seen a scene where Faith meets Colin's grandmother...
At least my 2nd go through, greatly enjoyed.
I loved the story. But in my head-canon, the conversation when Faith meets the gang goes slightly differently.
Faith: Sorry, but this one is mine.
Sophie: Don't worry, we know!
Faith: You know.
Sophie: Yup! He told us all about you.
Faith: I see. And you know I'm that person because...?
Sophie: He showed us a video.
Faith: What.
Anyway, thanks for the story! --JK
I am not a fan of piercings and tats. That was the first part I almost stopped reading. The second place was when he tried to stop her from visiting her friends. This was such an exceptionally well written story that I am glad I read it all the way through (grammatical errors be damned, didn't distract from the story).
At least the second time reading this great story. Enjoyed the banter between the characters. The evolution of the two main characters was so very engaging. Excellent writing. Had me captured wanting to see how it all came to fruition. Beautiful love story. John
This was a great love story. The banter was great and the characters were pretty memorable.
God I hate grammar nazi’s, I managed not to be overcome by any ground shaking errors! Thoroughly enjoyed this, right up there with my favourites on here, thanks!
Outstanding love story with strong characters and well developed plot. There were a few glitches of words misused and incorrect grammar that jumped out as I read but didn’t effect the read just made me hesitate before reading on.
Thanks for sharing this effort with me.
OutStanding! I’m not logged in at the moment, but I want to be more than ‘anonymous’. I’m Mvf_Lit. No stories yet, though I’ve started more than a few.
12/22/83 was when wife an I started our lives together. we had 27 + yrs before she passed .
Great story, brought some tears thinking back to when I met my wife of 40 years, it now being 2 years since she passed. Very nice love story, love at first sight. I'm sure that's what I felt. I could not take my eyes off her, we dated and loved for a year, we married and she brought 4 loving children with her for my instant family after a hurting divorce. This story was pretty much a feel good one all the way mine was a bit rougher but it lasted 40 years. Keep writing.
Louis Armstrong never was off! Smooth singers of both sexes, capable of sight-singing from the sheet, were a dime a dozen in the golden age of big band swing, Armstrong was an innovator and an original artist on several levels. He will have his place in the history of music for ages to come.
That is all I have to say.
This has to be one of my all time favourite stories! I couldn't wait to the total opposites attracting. The phone of their interaction is infectious! Thanks Joe, This story is bad is entertaining and exciting . Keep up the good work!
DP
A good story, and good tension through most of the story about what will happen.
I enjoyed my time here at Literotica but I know I may as well move on. I don’t think anyone can write a romance story that can top this one, so anything after this will be pretty anticlimactic. I’ve never been a member here so I don’t have a “favorites” list, but if I did, I’m pretty sure that this story would top it. Number One.
Thanks, JoeDreamer.
I 100% agrees with MartyMB. This is definitely my top 5% story. It's definitely earned itself 20 star 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
This story has made it to my "LE top 10" list. Since it's a rather informal list, the story may even have made it to the top 5. This is also remarkable because I don't usually read stories in the Romance category. Thank you, Joe.
Colin comes across as pretty creepy early on in my opinion. The ending is lovely and he definitely grew on me but the whining and demanding she stay after their first night... it wasn't attractive at all. No offense to the author but if we are being realistic here, most women would bail entirely after that display. It makes the man look way too needy and clingy. Some facts here... women are more likely to be scared off pretty easily at such an emotional full court press right at the beginning. Him telling Faith what SHE feels would definitely piss off most women. Honestly, my first impression in her situation would be stalker or worse. Granted, Colin wasn't ultimately like that but he comes across as pretty creepy initially.
How can anyone call this kind of story pornography when it is filled with love and sexy couplings that mean something not just sex for sex sake, people love and care and when you do love, really love you want to be as close to that person as you can get. When you have sex if things are really right there is a bonding, a coming together fo two souls. This story had that, true love a real connection. Keep writing.
What a great story.
Good pacing. Good development of the cousins and their relationships. ...and I'm a sucker for a nice romance.
Well done. Thanks for sharing.
Dam you, this was awesome, HOPE, FAITH AND LOVE are the greatest things God gave us!!?
my late wife & I had our first date on new years eve after all most 10 yrs of knowing each other . we married on Valentines day . we had 27 yrs together she passed .this story reminds me of that.
This was the love story of love stories. I takes a special writing talent to project the emotion the reader feels during and after finishing this story. Bravo! Thank you for your God given talent and sharing it with me (us). 5 STARS. C Close.
I hardly ever read a story that is over four pages long. So this one gets 5 for the first four, 5 for the second four, and 5 stars for the conclusion No way it could have been broken into chapters either. I flowed beautifully. Thank you /s/JustJay
this was a wonderfully paced story. Great characters, development, and delivery.
Just an incredible job!
I've re-read this story at least a dozen time! It's one of my true favorites on this site!
Just found this story, couldn't put it down, loved the writing, characters , and most important the story you tell, five stars!
that's how long it took for my late wife & me to wise up & marry . we had 27 +yrs together before she passed. still talk to her every night .
I managed to make it all the way into the mention of Grandmother's hot chocolate before I realized I'd read this story before, but it was definitely worth rereading. Nicely done.
I love stories like this... a five star for sure. A question if I may; past experience, is there any thing other than experiences from the past? Some may say I am nit picking, but oh well... Please keep writing this type of genre and I will follow.... this is Literotica, but not all have to be porn in words... thanks very much
Faith, hope and love , wonderful words to live our lives by. Thanks for your story, it was really beautiful. Please continue your stories, you're very talented.
That is a powerful emotion to evoke from a reader. It's a clear sign of emotional intelligence and the ability to express those feelings so clearly. Rarely have I been so moved.
What a heart warming story! I stumbled on this while searching for another story, Boy am I glad. This is a wonderful Love story! Thank You for this! Five stars and added to my favorites , so I can find it again!!!
I still find myself coming back to this and re-reading it every so often! Absolutely incredible!
Outstanding story! I was sad when it came to an ending but at least it is a very happy ending. Yes, Grandma will love Faith as will the rest of the family. I made this one of my favorite stories because it's way more than just sex, it had feelings and emotions all wrapped up in one package. As for typos and mistakes, I never saw them because I was so engrossed in the story to let them bother me. Sorry I can only give it a five.
Sometimes that one person makes everything in the world right. Even if its for just a moment. 5
for all of you who comment about typos stick your head into a wood chipper !!!! I read these for enjoyment & as far as anything else WHO CARES I DON'T . want a perfect story go to a book store shell out 25 $ up. BUTT HOLES !!!!!!!!!!!
I just love this story. I must have read it a dozen times since and it never fails to pick me up and put me in a good mood. Please sir, may we have some more?
Then the comments go on to say "What a wonderful story". It really was a wonderful story especially when (in the bar) Faith got up and sang a homage to her Dad. And Colin, understood the message.
"Bitter Comments" get a life !!
That was perfect .. and as with most of your stories, I always want more ... thanks ...
Grammar & typo error aside, this is a very lovely story. Too wonderful & heartfelt for words. This author knows how to tell a story & tug at your heartstrings. I highly recommend it. 4 stars - and that missing star is only because of the errors, nothing more.
Good transitions and continuity to a story that I could not put down until I finished it.
