If I can make it through this song
Then I can truly say goodbye
If it doesn’t hurt my heart , If I’m left with a grin
Remembering the laughter and of course delicious sin
The song is over and my eyes are dry
We had our moment and a sweet good-bye

My thoughts on the title is that typically most songs that people draw a lot of attention to are songs that remind them of someone they lost or had to let go of.
>Reading first few lines
The first four lines have a fairly basic rhyme scheme of 1232, but we've all wanted to rhyme cry or goodbye. I personally have rhymed some words maybe a dozens times in a dozen poems.
So far it makes me think of like a last dance for a last date or maybe a couple breaking up at something like a prom...

But as I read further, there might be some kind of never being able to finish a song because it's "their song" or "our song". Perhaps the person cries each time they listen and can't finish it.
I am sitting here thinking about this poem. Tempted to write two poems of my own.
If it actually is possible for two people to separate and not only... not be mad at each other... But also to not cry... To actually not regret having met each other... To not want to erase all the memories.
I think that is a beautiful thing. A sign of two mature people... A sign of someone emotionally mature and strong.
But perhaps it's because the romance or what it was, but a moment?

Well, it's very short and punchy, unlike my overly long and rambling poems... And I've been given so much to think about so 5 out 5... I should favorite this.
This was a GREAT poem. How many times has the relationship gone sour, and the only thing left is the song that reminds you of her. And the sweet pain every time you hear it. Truly you know when you are past the pain when that song can make you smile again. Wonderful way to be in touch with feelings that are real. You even made me think of times when songs have torn me apart, but later it was a sweet memory without the pain. This poem got me in touch with my OWN feelings... an excellent result!

Isn’t it amazing how our minds latch onto some songs? They connect us to certain times and events… and yes… some people. When you hear them played you can be transported right back to that moment or moments in time and everything going on with it. And while it’s not always a happy thing being remembered, it can be and often is the good parts that we remember most fondly in the end. And if you end up smiling through the tears… it’s still worth the memory… and we love the songs that bring them to us.
Keep at it my friend. You have so much more in you to share.
