We towed the car out and assessed the damage; there were a couple of dents along the sills but nothing serious. With a final crushing bear hug he drove off.
Over the next couple of weeks Chris felt so guilty about what happened between him and Cass that he stayed well away from us. He did send her some flowers and a card apologising and Cass rang him and said it was OK. He still kept his distance. Marie on the other hand came around as much as possible. Cass and her were inseparable, closer than sisters.
Chris was trying... we could all see it, he stopped hanging around with his loser mates and was going home every night. The thought of becoming a father was bringing out the best in him. Marie in particular changed, she wasn't at our place so often, they were back playing house.
The end of the month rolled around and there was no escaping a get together, Marie and Cass organised a big Saturday barbeque lunch at Marie and Chris's place. From all the secretive bullshit I figured it must be good news, but I said nothing, they wanted it to be a surprise.
It started slowly, Marie and I were still distant. We turned up with food and drinks. Marie met us at the door and there was no escaping a kiss as we walked in.
I went straight out to help Chris with the barbeque and we cracked a couple of beers. Thankfully he was much brighter than the last time we spoke. He really seemed to have pulled himself out of the hole. As we drank our beers waiting for the hotplate to heat up, we talked work, cricket and things gradually eased, maybe not quite like old times but it was a start we could at least share a joke.
During lunch Marie made the big smiling announcement. She was pregnant There were hugs and kisses all around, Cassie cried and they kissed. "Oh Marie I am so happy for you, I can't wait."
It became somewhat of a party after that, we turned the music up and we toasted to the baby.
As we were packing up and putting the barbeque away he grabbed me in that damned bear hug. "Jay I will never be able to thank you enough man and I mean that. Thank god you didn't do it, I don't know what I was thinking but thanks for not going through with it, and I am going to pay you back every damned cent that I promise."
I laughed. "I don't care about the money, mum fronted with that, but you are going to be a father and I expect you to be a good one, no more drinking and fucking around, no more man whore shit."
"Jay I promise I will make you proud of me."
Things settled into a crazy routine. The girls did everything together, Chris threw himself back into work, he had lost ground and his new revitalised approach meant he needed to make amends. Cassie took over some of his duties at home and went to antenatal classes in his place, doctors' visits everything and the girl's friendship became even closer if that is possible.
Chris's long hours meant there wasn't much time for socialising. Cassie and Marie were flat out as well, preparing their house for the new arrival.
The birth went well and Chris's parents were so pleased there wasn't too much flack about them being unmarried, they were elated with the new arrival and happy also to see their son reappear.
They named their new daughter Christine and what a gorgeous wee thing she was, the splitting image of her mother thankfully there were no reflections of her father to take away from her fine features.
The first time I held the baby in my arms was weird, this was mine, I got all teary eyed and Cass had to drag her out of my arms.
The birth gave all the families a chance to congregate and celebrate. At the party Marie danced with me and whispered in my ear, "Thank you Jay."
It was later as I was standing out on the back patio sucking in the cool night air when Marie sauntered up beside me. We leaned against the railing listening to the sounds of the night when she whispered. "Jay Chris told me what he said to you that day out in the garage... can I ask a personal question?"
I turned and peered at her from beneath hooded brows. "Yeah go on, what do you want to know?"
"Why did you say no? I know things have always been tense and awkward between us but I put that down to your problem with Chris, did you say no because you don't actually like me? Is that what's behind the awkwardness? You just don't like me."
Stuck, trapped in quicksand I stuttered my response. "Marie I do like you, I like you a lot actually. It was because I couldn't do that to Cass. What happened between Chris and Cassie was heart-breaking for me and I couldn't risk putting her through that, also I didn't want to go through that again myself."
She smiled coyly. "So it's not because I am ugly then?"
I laughed. "Jesus Marie don't be ridiculous you are a beautiful woman, sexy and pretty."
She giggled. "Thanks Jay, so if you like me can we at least try to be friends? I feel so left out when you three start reminiscing, because half the time I don't know what or who you are talking about and I feel like the third wheel."
I gave her a hug. "I'm sorry I didn't realise you felt like that. I will try to be more inclusive."
She hugged me back planting a sloppy kiss on my surprised lips. "That's good because I already feel like Christine needs a sibling..."
Life settled into a somewhat normal routine, except Cassie got clucky with a new baby in the mix and I noticed there were no contraception tablets on the sink in our bathroom, she always left them there to remind herself to never forget, but the packet had vanished and our sex life went through the roof.
So did it all work out? The short answer is yes we managed to navigate our way through the minefield of jealousy and anger, but there was another twist in this tale... But that's as they say another story.

Written by a defective male, which is why his male characters ultimately are written as weak, feminized men. The author obviously resents masculinity...something he lacks.
In most stories the reader can usually relate or cheer for a main character. However. it is difficult to find anything but disgust for the main character due to his being weak and a tool. Once you feel that way it's hard to enjoy the story.
Class said she only fucked Chris once on the night of the party.......she also said she knew she was pregnant on the night of the party.... therefore if Chris is the father then she had to have fucked him before.... That should have changed the whole ending to the story!
Chris was an execrable human being. But at least they found a solution via IVF. Would have liked to see more about Jay and Cassie, not just all the Chris drama. Jay seemed pretty wise in how he confronted Chris. Though irl never would have made it this far.

This was a great story! I gave the story five stars!! I think that Jay and Marie may actually fuck if Marie has anything to say about it. I hope Jay does not ever fuck her. Even if he tries to keep it as only sex, and even if Cassie is fine with him fucking Marie, the entire thing would blow up if he went along with Marie and had sex with her. I truly hope Jay holds his ground and does not ever fuck Marie. I aos think he will always have to keep his eye on Chris with regards to Cassie. I read this once before and did not comment. The truth is Jason and Cassie should have told Chris that he already has a child. I wonder if that kind of thing happens in real life. Chris and Marie could have adopted his baby. However it’s also true that Chris is a waste of human flesh.

Really disheartening to see Chris be so irredeemable. He was making a try at Cassie again after he mooned over her for years and then took his opportunity to semi-rape her in bed.
Also what is up with the pregnancy test that triggered the flash party by Cassie when they all got really drunk? Was that just a convenient lie? Was it a false reading? Why didn't Cassie even announce it at the part before the three of them ended up in bed (with Chris apparently the least drunk).

Ah the wonders of comments in the LW section. I am torn on the story I thought for awhile that Chris would end up finding out about Jaycee and I liked the irony of the kids names at the end each named for the “wrong” dad. I am also glad it didn’t go down the two wrongs don’t make a right path with Chris doing Marie. Now what’s wrong, Jays anger issues seemed a bit confident at times with an over the top action then little reaction the next. The big main night was a bit off too first he couldn’t move and is disorientated then picks apart Chris and then has the presence of mind to not only leave but take everything he needs and knows right where to go to hide out. The story other than that is written well ( except to very glaring grammar things) and it flows well,
Mechanically a sound well presented piece. My rational adult side also knows what the MC did was the rational adult thing to do. I think one thing that is kind of ignored is that Chris raped Cassie and the author never mentions it. Chis purposefully moved to the other side of the bed where she was, undressed her while she was sleeping and starting fucking her without her consent. I think ignoring that point really brought this story down a notch for me. I think the other comments sum up the other issues I had. All in all, even with the flaws, it was a good story.

She swore up, down, backwards and forwards that she was pregnant before she fucked Chris. But the DNA test came back showing Jason wasn't the father. I presume this means she was lying and knew she was lying the whole time.
I accept their reconciliation, but I would have preferred if he insisted she admit her lie and apologize beforehand. The trust was already broken, how can he start to rebuild it when she clearly and purposefully lied about a major aspect of the situation?
I kept hoping it would turn out there was some sort of error in the test and he'd find out Jaycee was his afterall, allowing him to accept that she was telling the truth, even when all proof seemed to say she was lying.

I think the irrationality and meanness of the male protagonists is the difference between a 3.9 score and a "Hall of Fame" score. The writing is that good and these characters are that unbelievably bad.

This author writes a well-plotted story, Also enjoyable to read too. There is so much pointless drivel on Literotica, but also some actually good story writing too. My only faint criticism would be a little more editing to compress some parts of the story which take a bit too long to establish character relationships.
This author seems to specialise in unlikeable, insecure, infantile, self-righteous husbands and wives who for reasons beyond my understanding want to stay married to them. Having said that, I have to admit that the quality of the writing and general story telling is of a high standard and, despite my lack of empathy with the characters, I have to give it at least a 4 or 5.

This story cratered when the author turned Jason into a weak, needy cuck. The wife committed adultery and bore a bastard child, and then thehusband and succumbed to pressure and his "neediness" to become a worthless cuck. This is a woman's fantasy - she can fuck around, have a bastard, but her husband will "neeeed" her so much that she gets to have her cake and eat it, too.
The biggest problem with this story is that the only one that got off clean and free in this story, albeit for his lack of germinating sperm, is Chris, who is a self centered egotistical ass that just wants Jason's wife as his own. And he sure does take her. He screws his best friend's wife, he doesn't have to be responsible for it to anyone while the other guy Jason is ostracized by friends and family, he doesn't have to be responsible for the financial burden of the child he created and he gets to be a daddy and keep his beautiful wife from divorcing him. And they all live happily ever after In ignorant bliss? Not gonna happen. The story tries to balance the scales by using Jason's sperm for Chris's wife as some sort of indirect pay back for impregnating Cassie, Jason's wife. But you can't balance the scale of this type of betrayal and expect everyone to live happily ever after. Only a fool with a heart of gold would take everything thrown at Jason and still come out happy and stay friends with everyone that betrayed him and scorned him and treated him badly. Jason is not Jesus Christ but apparently the story believes that he is. This writer has written much better and more cohesive stories that this one and I do thank the writer for the other entertaining stories but I do not feel guilty for criticizing the author for the incomprehensible plot and storyline of this gem..
No matter how skilled the writer, works based on specious logic simply cannot hold together sufficiently to enable the reader to properly suspend belief. The husband is cuckolded in his own bed by his best friend.. while his slutting wife screams her orgasms and just how good his best friend is servicing her.... The cuckold rightly is fundamentally outraged...and frankly shattered...and divorces the betraying wife. Then the story even further has the slut wife...who is pregnant from said cuckolding....carry the bastard child to full term over the vigorous protests of the cuckold husband. Then when the dna test PROVES.. the bastard child is not his....we further go down the rabbit hole....and the cuckold is ostracized by all friends and relatives...because the cuckold chooses to protect the slut wife and bastard child by not revealing the true parentage...all the way through the story,.
Then we have a mazelike menagerie of illogical actions and insane and inane rationalizations. In short, it is simply unbelievable.... the actions leading to the conclusion are so bizarre that the reader is left hanging...it MAKES NO SENSE.
In addition, the primary characters in this story are frankly slimly, unattractive creepy people. You simply cannot identify with the cheating wife...because while she repents of the results...it is obvious that she has and will fall into the same cheating trap with the same guy provided similar conditions reoccur The cheating lover best friend...is frankly a total slimeball....who has no honor...or attractive characteristics whatsoever. He repeatedly reinterates his deep love for the protagonist's wife....and he also will cheat with her in a second if he can get away with it.
Then we are faced with that fumbly bumbly elephant joke of a cuckold protagonist. Yes he starts well....dumping both cheating wife and betraying best friend. Then...slowly fumbly it all seems to unravel and we find this dweeb wimp...fully accepting his slut wife FORCING him countenance a close relationship with this unrepentant and slimy best friend....leading up to a broken interlude in which he walks in to his wife "comforting" the best friend .... Then we see the only untainted character....the "girlfriend" of the slime ball best friend....getting impregnated with the cuckold's sperm IVF.....she begins coming onto the pathetic protagonist at the end of the story with a lead on tag for a subsequent episode of this mess yet to come.
This whole story is, to quote the bard: "It’s all sound and fury, signifying nothing..."
Even IF he could get past Jaycee, Chris and everything to do with him would never be allowed in his life again, it would just drag up memories of what happened and who Jaycee's father is.
And blaming Jason for Chris' condition is like blaming Jason for Chris fucking Cassie.

Interesting concept but the characters were so appalling that I found it impossible to empathize with their situation and care what happened in the end.
Jay allowed his drunken friend to share a bed with his drunken wife and refused to take any responsibility for what happened. He crossed the line from a justifiably angry husband into a homicidal maniac when he left Chris outside to die, accusing his wife of betraying him again when she called for an ambulance. Does the author seriously expect us to view him as the innocent victim worthy of our sympathy?
Cass and Chris weren't particularly likeable and may have behaved badly but at least their actions were those of flawed human beings giving into to temptation. Jay's reaction was that of an hypocritical, self-righteous lunatic and I am at a loss to understand why they or anyone in their right mind would want anything more to do with such a sad excuse for man.

Loved the story. Would love t see the sequel if there is. It seems there was one hinted at.
I much prefer reconciliation stories to BTB stories but for some reason this story just doesn't gel with me. one thing that the author didn't follow up in the story was that Cassie told Jason that she was pregnant before the party where she cheated with Chris and that she had taken a pregnancy test two weeks before the party. The author doesn't follow up on this lie in the story.

I liked the story. Jay needed to figure out what offended him the most. I think it was Cassie enjoying the sex more with Chris. Some of that was the excitement of her realizing a long time fantasy by clearly some was Jay's skill (or lack thereof). Glad he fixed that.
I think that a fourth chapter with Jay impregnating Marie. Maybe several times. Cassie seems to have been fine with the idea. Both women need at least two more kids and they will need the money that they don't spend on IVF for Marie.

Interesting idea, fairly well plotted and not badly written, but the story can't overcome the fundamental question of why would anyone choose to have a relationship (romantic or otherwise) with an infantile, macho dickhead like Jay - and the other characters aren't much more endearing.
I find it difficult to really engage with a story (no matter how cleverly plottted or well written) if I can't feel some sense of empathy with the characters - and I'm sure I'm not alone.

I thought the parentage of each of the three kids was made clear in the story. Working backwards, Christine was the result of IVF (Jay/Marie), James is the only "normal" child (Jay/Cassie), and Jaycee is a bastard child (Chris/Cassie). Chris' sterility is a result of the beatdown supplied by Jay after the drunken threesome that broke the bonds of friendship and marriage.

This emotional rollercoaster story has a little bit of everything... just not sure of loving wives category ...but an interesting story that you wanted to keep reading
The story raised some really good relationship issues and in the main the story telling was excellent and the grammar reasonable. I think is was a well thought out scenario and the characters kept in character well. Jay was always the strongest character and he eventually had the strength of character to live with the situation he found himself in. This is not a cuck story and Jay is not a cuck, all the while Chris doesn’t know he's Jaycee's sperm donor, then Jay can cope with enjoying being Jaycee's Dad. Drunken Cassandra did arrange the threesome scenario that she hoped Jay would go for but she misread her husband and nearly paid for her mistake with her life and future happiness. I know she lied when she told Jay she knew she was pregnant before "the party" but that was at a time when their relationship was broken and she was clutching at straws, hoping the "proud new dad syndrome" would kick in before going for DNA test; when the first doctor realised there was a parental dispute over the pregnancy the Doc should have recommended amniocentesis but I guess that would've finished the story in chapter 1! As for Chris's sterility, well, he is naturally an unlikeable player, and he only had himself to blame for that. At least he clearly believes he was always sterile, which is why he has never and will never taunt Jay about Jaycee and will always be grateful for Christine and, as Marie seems to hint, possible future children. Yes, nice plot and well delivered, I really don’t think the story needs to continue as the current status of all parties is a happy stable one. Good, smart and satisfactory ending.

I am not sure if the author did this intentionally, but the story had impossible circumstances. As others noted, Cassie said she knew she was pregnant before the event. Was that a true statement, or was Cassie lying to avoid the possibility that Chris was the father?
I don't understand how Chris could have fathered Jaycee, but then became sterile. Or were the DNA tests fake?
I don't understand why Chris felt compelled to have Jayson as a friend. He should have went on with his life, as did Jayson.
There is no explanation of why Cassie refused to take responsibility for the break-up and divorce before her mother and family, but let people blame Jayson.
I could not believe that Marie and Cassie would have been talking about Chris ejaculating, and certainly Cassie would not have been joking with Marie about Chris' cock.
